Abstract
"pNEUMA is a large-scale dataset of naturalistic vehicle trajectories from half a million vehicles in Athens, Greece, collected via a swarm of drones for traffic congestion research."
Description
Next-Generation Traffic Monitoring
pNEUMA is a first-of-its-kind experiment using a swarm of drones to capture the Naturalistic Trajectories of vehicles in the congested downtown area of Athens.
Dataset Scale and Detail
- Vehicle Coverage: Data from approximately 500,000 vehicles, an order of magnitude higher than previous datasets.
- High Precision: Naturalistic trajectories at a resolution impossible with traditional stationary sensors.
- Multidisciplinary: Useful for transportation engineering, urban planning, and autonomous vehicle simulation.
Research Vision
Aims to promote open traffic data for tackling congestion and establishing drones as a viable alternative for high-accuracy traffic monitoring.
