Overview

The release contains environmental sensing and room-level motion events from one older adult’s home. It is a single-home monitoring resource, not a population-scale clinical cohort.

Measured structure

database_gas.csv has 416,153 rows and 10 columns: timestamp plus nine sensor measurements. It covers 6 November 2019–13 February 2020, at approximately 20-second intervals. database_pos.csv has 28,478 rows and 6 columns: datetime and five room fields. It starts on 1 November 2019 and contains 113,941 empty cells. Its sparse events do not constitute a regular 20-second position series.

Interpretation

The UCI total of 444,631 is the sum of gas and position rows, not one ten-column table. Catalog row/column counts here refer to database_gas.csv. The 75,511-row reference file is a subset of the gas table, not additional observations. Normalize the timestamp offsets before joining tables, and do not replace all missing motion cells with observed zeros.
