Abstract

"A massive time-series dataset (2M+ rows) tracking active power, voltage, and sub-metering energy usage for a single household over 4 years."

Description

This is a classic multivariate time-series dataset used to benchmark Energy Forecasting Algorithms. It contains 2,075,259 measurements gathered between December 2006 and November 2010 (47 months).

Dataset Variables (1-minute sampling):

  • Global_active_power: Household global minute-averaged active power (in kilowatt).
  • Global_reactive_power: Household global minute-averaged reactive power.
  • Voltage: Minute-averaged voltage (in volt).
  • Global_intensity: Minute-averaged current intensity (in ampere).
  • Sub_metering_1: Energy sub-metering No. 1 (Kitchen - dishwasher, oven).
  • Sub_metering_2: Energy sub-metering No. 2 (Laundry room - washing-machine).
  • Sub_metering_3: Energy sub-metering No. 3 (Water-heater & AC).

Engineering Use Cases:

Ideal for training LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) networks and ARIMA models to predict future energy usage and detect anomalies in smart grids.
