Catalog Summary

"Process and network data from a six-stage water treatment testbed: 11 days, 51 sensors and actuators and 41 labelled attacks. Access by request only."

Catalog Notes

Release scope

This record describes SWaT.A1_Dec 2015, collected at the Secure Water Treatment testbed of iTrust, Singapore University of Technology and Design. The installation models a six-stage water-treatment process.

Publisher-reported characteristics

  • 11 days: seven under normal conditions and four with attack scenarios.
  • Network traffic and values from 51 sensors and actuators.
  • Normal and abnormal behaviour labels; 41 attacks across the four attack days.

Interpretation and limitations

The 51 sensors and actuators are process channels, not a verified count of every column in a delivered file. No raw-file row or column count is asserted here. Later SWaT releases have different collection periods and attack conditions; their statistics must not be combined with this December 2015 record.

Access and redistribution

Access requires an application through iTrust's request form. This is not an open-license download. The terms of usage prohibit sharing the data with others, publicly or privately; additional users must request access themselves.

Recipients must credit iTrust, Centre for Research in Cyber Security, Singapore University of Technology and Design, and notify iTrust of published work using the data. Requesters agree to publication of their name, organization and request date. This catalog provides a description and source link, not redistributed data files.

Source and citation

Source: official SWaT dataset characteristics. The cited public record does not provide a dataset DOI. December 2015 identifies the collection release. The public page does not establish its publication date; the descriptive institutional citation therefore uses n.d.

Companion publication: Goh, J., Adepu, S., Junejo, K. N., and Mathur, A. (2017), A Dataset to Support Research in the Design of Secure Water Treatment Systems, in the CRITIS 2016 proceedings. This DOI identifies the paper, not the dataset.
