Overview

The collection records eight metal-oxide gas sensors with temperature and humidity under background conditions and controlled wine/banana presentations. It supports gas-response research rather than a fully labeled taxonomy of daily human activities.

Measured structure

The inspected data file contains 928,991 rows and 12 columns: recording ID, relative time, R1–R8, temperature and humidity. Relative time is expressed in hours; sampling is approximately once per second. The separate metadata table lists 100 sessions: 36 wine, 33 banana and 31 background.

Source discrepancy

Only 99 distinct recording IDs occur in the measured data. ID 95, a background session dated 11 September 2015 in metadata, has no measurement rows. UCI’s headline figure of 919,438 instances also differs from the downloaded file. Catalog row_count and column_count use the inspected data file; the missing session was neither reconstructed nor silently counted as present.
